Galia Training Institute

We believe that the future will be built through the development of healthier minds and more just systems for women and marginalized people. We are so grateful for the training experiences we have had and have made it part of our mission to educate and train the next generation of experts in women’s mental health.

Women's Mental Health Fellowship

We offer a one-year fellowship to individuals who have completed their graduate training and are seeking to hone their expertise in women's mental health through advanced psychotherapy skills.

Trainees will have the opportunity to provide psychotherapy to women across the lifespan, with special emphasis on competency in reproductive and perinatal mental health, maternal mental health, midlife mental health, and relationships. Fellows may have the opportunity to work with individuals with eating related concerns as well.

This is an intensive training experience in outpatient treatment working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including practitioners of psychotherapy, dietetics, and medication support.

If you are interested in discussing a fellowship position, please contact Dr. Amber Stevens.

Graduate Student Practicum

We are proud to offer practicum training experiences for psychology doctoral students completing their advanced graduate training. Practicum students at Galia are afforded opportunities to advance and hone their clinical skills through individual and group supervision, consultation, and educational didactics all while developing more intensive understanding of working in an outpatient behavioral health/group practice setting.

The practicum is a commitment of 20 hours per week and is offered July through June of the following year. We ask all interested students to send a letter of interest and CVs to their university's training departments or directly to our Training and Staff Development Director, Dr. Amber Stevens by the end of February. Interviews are conducted in March with selections then occurring in April. For any additional questions regarding our practicum program, please contact Dr. Amber Stevens
