Let Your Body Speak
A Restorative Mini-Retreat for Listening Within
Hosted by Galia Collaborative and Women Writing for (a) Change
When was the last time you listened inward?
On a summer Friday afternoon, we invite you to step out of the noise and into something quieter, deeper, and often overlooked — your own body.
So much of our lives are lived from the neck up. We think, analyze, problem-solve, and narrate. And while that part of us is powerful, it can also leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, from our emotions, and from the subtle signals that are always trying to reach us.
This mini-retreat is an invitation to return.
Through guided breathwork, reflective writing, and shared space, we will gently explore what becomes available when we shift our attention inward.
You may find that your body has something to say. You may find that your writing changes when you listen.
You may find access to thoughts, feelings, or truths that have been just out of reach.
WHO THIS IS FOR:
This experience is especially meaningful if you:
- Feel disconnected from your body or tend to live “in your head”
- Have a complicated or strained relationship with your body
- Are drawn to writing and want to deepen your creative or reflective practice
- Are curious about breathwork and embodied approaches to self-exploration
- Simply want a restorative, intentional way to spend a summer afternoon
No prior experience with writing or breathwork is necessary.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
This will be a gentle, inward-focused afternoon that blends:
- Breathwork for embodiment: guided practices to help you access internal awareness and emotional depth
- Reflective writing: invitations to translate your inner experience into words
- Facilitated circle space: opportunities for connection, witnessing, and optional sharing
- Unstructured time: space to process, rest, or create at your own pace
We will provide journals, light snacks, and refreshments. You’re welcome to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable.
