The Embodiment Sessions at Odessa Healing Center
A 3-session small-group yoga therapy series
Yoga therapy provides a way to explore the relationship between body, breath, attention, and experience through simple, accessible practices. The Embodiment Sessions are a trauma-informed small-group experience designed to build awareness of what is happening in the body and learn practical ways to meet that experience with steadiness, curiosity, and choice
This series may be especially meaningful for people who spend a lot of time in their heads, thinking, analyzing, trying to get things “right”, and would like to develop a more direct, comfortable relationship with the body. You won't be asked to think your way into embodiment. Instead, we'll use movement, breath, sensation, and attention to explore what it is like to be here, in the body, as you are.
This is not a traditional yoga class. There is no expectation to perform poses, achieve a particular shape, or have prior yoga experience. Practices are offered as invitations, with options to participate in ways that feel appropriate for you.Yoga therapy’s understanding of the person is holistic: body, breath, mind, and awareness exist not as separate elements to be fixed, but aspects of a whole person. This series offers an opportunity to explore that wholeness through direct experience rather than more concepts to think about.
The sessions are designed as a series, with each building on the last, but you’re welcome to join for an individual session.

The Three Sessions
1. Safety & Grounding | October 17
Start by exploring physical support, orientation, stability, and choice. Through gentle movement and awareness practices, we'll investigate what it means to feel more grounded and present in the body.
2. Interoception & Presence | October 24
Turn the attention inward to explore the body's dynamic sensations without needing to adjust, fix, or judge them. Movement, stillness, and body scans become opportunities to practice noticing and staying present.
3. Breath & Pranic Awareness | November 7
Explore the breath as an opportunity to continue building awareness and connect the body and mind. We'll use moving with breath and gentle pranayama practices while building an understanding of how different practices impact experience.
